Knitting with a two-tone effect

Knitting with a two-tone effect

Another idea for knitting your own unique garments, creating beautiful colour effects, is to knit creating a two-tone effect on your garments. We can do this by knitting with two balls of different shades that match, and it's very easy!

We have balls of yarn that already have several colors or shades in the color of the thread, and they look beautiful, but another very nice and effective option is to create our two-tone tone, using two balls of solid color in two shades that combine with each other.

This allows us to increase the color possibilities, as there are always many more solid colors available.

How to knit in two-tone?

To knit creating this two-tone effect, all we have to do is knit using the two strands at the same time, together, as if they were a single strand. The stitches will be knitted in the same way as if we were knitting a single strand.

You must keep the same tension on both threads, that is, not one hanging and the other tight. Place both balls at your side and hold the two strands together with your left hand as if they were one, while knitting, pull both colors at the same time.

When knitting, this beautiful two-tone effect is produced, which gives a bright and different look to our work.

What points to use it with?

You can use it for any stitch, of course. But it is a technique that looks great and looks phenomenal with single stitches.

If you knit your entire garment in single or double crochet, this colour effect will give it a more striking touch and you will easily and simply create a very attractive piece of work.
