Share
Pattern for a baby sweater made with high quality cotton, soft and delicate for little ones. Design by Idealium. Size 12 months.
Material
- 2 balls Natural Batik
- Crochet hook no. 3
Abbreviations
V = turn
CAD = chain stitch (loop)
PA = double crochet (we take a yarn over, we insert the needle, we take a yarn over, we bring the needle, we take a yarn over, we take 2 loops from the needle, we take a yarn over, we take 2 loops)
PR = slip stitch (we insert the needle, we take up the yarn, we bring the needle in, we take out the yarn)
PB = single crochet (we insert the needle, we take up the yarn, we bring the needle, we take up the yarn, we take out 2 loops)
PM = half double crochet (we take a yarn over, we insert the needle, we take a yarn over, we bring the needle, we take a yarn over, we take out 3 loops)
BL = back loop (we make the stitch by inserting the needle only into the back loop of the stitch instead of taking both loops)
CJ = bound together (two or more stitches bound together. For example 2 DC CJ: we take a yarn over, insert the needle, take a yarn over, bring the needle in, take a yarn over, pull up 2 loops on the needle and, without taking out the other 2 loops, we begin the second double crochet, take a yarn over, insert the needle, take a yarn over, bring the needle in, take a yarn over, pull up 2 loops on the needle, take a yarn over, pull up all the loops. A single stitch is created where there were previously two). This creates a DECREASE.
TJ = knitted together (two or more stitches knitted with the needle piercing the same stitch). This creates an INCREASE.
Tips
- In the single crochet rounds we make 1 chain stitch in height before the first stitch.
- Half-stitch rounds begin with 2 CH stitches in height before the first stitch.
- In the high point rounds, start with 2 chain stitches in height before the first stitch.
- The sweater is knitted in the round, closing each round with a PR to the first stitch.

Close the fabric.
We have already finished the first round.
To knit the other sleeve, we attach a yarn to the stitch where we finished Rnd 11 but on the other side.
And we repeat the steps from rows 12 to 29 to knit this sleeve.
C) BODY
We attach a yarn to one of the armholes, where we finished Rnd 11. We are going to knit the body of the sweater downwards in a circle, knitting the 38 stitches on each side, which gives us rounds of 76 stitches.
On the first round of the body (which would be round 12 if we continue from the beginning of the neck down), to cover the gap in the armholes when moving from one side to the other, we will also knit in the stitches where we made the PR to join the sides in round 11, we will call these stitches “Joining stitches”. When we go around the first round we will find 4 joining stitches.
R12 - Knit 2 DC P (the first joining stitch and the next), 36 DC, 2 DC P (the stitch before the joining stitch and the second joining stitch), again 2 DC P (the third joining stitch and the next), 36 DC, 2 DC P (the stitch before the last joining stitch and the last joining stitch). There are 38 stitches left on each side, in total the round 76 stitches.
